Barbara has agreed to muster the Evans clan doing it here and sending comments via me or Chrissy. Audrey said she has had positive agreements from all her famiy to partake. So we must just keep reminding them. Bren will organise their family but I might have trouble with Chris. I need to enlist Kelly’s help. Julian has also asked to be included.

My comment already sent may need additions and will include “my favourite things” if  I can record a version that I am happy with! I have tried about six times and do something different each time. We will see.

As the song says, “I simply remember my favourite things and then I don’t feel so bad”.

Kayleigh had a new hairstyle and her mum believes it has given her a new personality. She says she even behaves differently. Who says girls and boys are not different and it is us who make them  different. In true female characteristic she was very aware and proud of her new style. I will post a photo of her to show you her growing confidence.

It made me think of the ups and downs we feel every day. But we need to struggle with the downs and the confusing ‘half way ups’ to make sense and give purpose to the ups. They must be linked together in one process, be held together, to find meaning and strength.

Then Reg was telling me of a TV programme on Stephen Hawkins demonstrating the hold of gravity that keeps the earth on a certain path. They understand the impact of their quantum theory and Einstein’s relativity but cannot explain the way gravity works like an invisible thread holding the earth to that pathway.

It made me think that my life is like that. I feel the depressing ‘down’ times and those confusing ‘half-way ups’ and sometimes am excited by those exhilarating ‘up’ moments. But an invisible thread (I think for me that is my relationship with God) just keeps the pathway moving through a meaningful pattern of life.

Well I hope that makes some sense – it seemed to make sense to me before I tried to write it down.    

I think it is just good realising all the lovely people that have been there for you. I have one special person that always comes to mind from my teenage years. Sheila had such a lovely smile and I wanted to be like her. I knew she was a christian so that is what I wanted to be. She now lives in Bury St Edmunds and I long to meet her again and tell her the impact she had and still has on me.
